"One of the best travel experience ever" review on TripAdvisor.com January 2018, I have to say, when given directions of "look for the last hanging bridge" to get to the lodge...I knew we were in for an adventure. This truly was a magical destination. Cristof was probably one of the best hosts I've ever met. .... Cristof was full of knowledge about the area, knew all the locals, etc. not to mention was a fantastic cook....Long story short...I can't imagine a better location and host for experiencing the jungle. However, if you're a city slicker and want the Ritz, this (or the Amazon in general) isn't for you. Thank you, Cristof & Louis. You made our experience unforgettable!!!!
“Excellent experience” Stayed November 2014, review on Tripadvisor.com Frustrated by the long transfer times quoted to reach other jungle destinations, I came across Huella Verde online after searching for somewhere that was more easily accessible and allowed us more freedom in terms of itinerary........The whole place has a really nice atmosphere. We arrived after a week of rushing around on other tours and here we were able to easily relax...... .

This small establishment offers genuine hospitality to a small number of guests (7 at most) by its Swiss-born owner, Christof, and his Ecuadorian spouse, Dagmar. ...... The cuisine is really great, ranging from Moroccan tagines to Ecuadorian specialties. The hosts are wonderful, and went to lengths to help us celebrate a major birthday, among many acts of kindness. It's on our "must return" list!
